The Tom Cruise Val Kilmer Danger Zone Pony

Only lyrics can do this one justice... hopefully.

A pony head in black and with his mane flowing in the wind tom cruises' hair on a tarmac

... neighing like an engine, listen to the pony roar.
... Highway, to the pony zone.
... Trotting right into the pony zone!

Update: People seem to think this is actually a Val Kilmer Pony.

Fabio the Dartmoor Pony

A white dartmoor pony stands full frame with a flowing white mane set against a grey sky and a vivid green forest background.

I think this pony looks like Fabio, what do you think? The only thing is, Fabio doesn't live in the legendary forest of Dartmoor National Park in the UK. And Fabio is not a pony.

Sunbathing Pony

A dark brown pony lays down and enjoys the sunny pasture.

This pony lives in Wrexham, UK and I am just guessing that they don't get sun that often there... so, when it's sunny you have to take time to enjoy it like this relaxed pony!

White Pony

A white pony stands alone in the field.

Another slightly lonely looking pony, but I think this pony is secretly very happy with the way he's looking at the camera.

Pony A Day Technology Updates

First, I appreciate every person that visits this site, thank you! Second, I apologize for not having posted a pony last week. This will be short and sweet, I have 3 things to announce to for you.

2. http://blog.ponyaday.com! If you were reading this/linking to ponyaday.blogspot.com you will notice that the shiny new URL is http://blog.ponyaday.com, if you notice any problems please get in touch with me.

3. Stickers! I'm working with a Portland,OR based artist to get Pony-A-Day stickers made... stay tuned or email me if you'd like to get on the waiting list for them.

A Great Grey Connemara Pony

A lone grey connemara pony stands in a green field.

Today we have an a wonderful grey Connemara pony thanks to Joe Cashin.

Legend has it that the Connemara Pony descended from Spanish horses, rescued from the Armada when the ships wrecked on the rocky coast of western Ireland in 1568. In fact, the Connemara’s ancestors lived in Ireland for thousands of years, although some of the Armada's horses may have mated with local stock.[1]

Flatiron Pony

This pony used a professional flat iron to make that mane look sharp.

Someone must be styling these ponies... this flatiron pony has a professional to make that mane so, well, awesome.

A pony with black, white and brown mane looks coyly at the camera.

Exmoor Pony

A pony in Brendon Moor in the heart of Exmoor

I asked the photographer if he could tell a story about this pony and Tim sure could!

[This photo] was captured on Brendon Moor in the heart of Exmoor where these ponies largely roam wild. This is indeed a wild animal, but they are failrly tame and if approached carefully will let you get quite close.

Normally these ponies are found in family groups or small herds, but on this occasion I came across a lone individual. I imagine the rest of his group where about, but out of sight.

I like this shot because I managed to squeeze a decent landscape in the background and show this animal in it's natural habitat. Also, as ever, good natural light really brings the subject to life.

There is a miniature pony stud a few miles down the road from our place. I sometimes stop when they are close to the road for a chat and some photos!

Frankfurt Zoo Mohawk Pony

Grey pony standing on two legs with a main that looks like a mohawk.

This mohawk maned pony lives at Zoo Frankfurt in Germany. I really like the mohawk that this pony is sporting. Here is a picture of it's care takers grooming another horse... they take good care of the animals at this zoo from what I've read. They also have one of the largest nocturnal animal displays in Europe.

Shaggy New Forest Pony

A shaggy baby new forest pony grazing on grass.

Check out this shaggy New Forest Pony that lives a happy life near Bournemouth, UK provided by Just'fi.

The New Forest Pony is one of the recognized nine Mountain and Moorland or Native pony breeds of the British Isles, valued for its hardiness, strength and sureness of foot. Many of them can be seen running loose on the New Forest in southern England; although the ponies may appear wild (which they are to some extent), they are privately owned by Commoners of the New Forest.
